About Joy
Joy delights in creating unique and whimsical crocheted hats, handbags, wrap- around skirts, pants and dresses. Joy can take your favorite garment, the one that’s falling apart at the seams, and give it a new life as the base for an entirely fresh garment.

About Joy
Joy has been sewing and making hand crafted garments most of her life. Her mother taught her how to sew and crochet when Joy was twelve years old. Joy made her first garment, a wrap-around dress, in 8th grade Home Economics class and wore it until the dress nearly fell apart. She’s experimented with sewn garments for many years and also taught herself beading, embroidery and needlepoint from books and from experimenting with the materials.
Joy drives a decorated car, known as an ArtCar (www.artcarfest.com) which she’s adorned with beads, keys, flowers, broken reflectors, cheerful printed fabrics and two pair of mannequin legs sticking out of the roof. This is Joy’s fourth mobile artwork since 1997 when she turned a car her brother had sold her (originally painted in brown camouflage) into a rolling landscape of flowers, grass and ivy.
